ABOUT US

The Organiser

Science and Research Association (Asociația pentru Știință și Cercetare in Romanian) is a non-governmental organization from Romania dedicated to promoting science, research, and scientific education within society. Founded formally in 2021 with main activity in Cluj-Napoca, the association aims to bring science closer to the public and support the development of the scientific community.

The organization works to encourage curiosity, knowledge, and collaboration among students, researchers, and the general public. Its mission is to promote scientific research, support scientists, and facilitate communication between researchers and society. Through its activities, the association also seeks to strengthen civic participation of the Romanian scientific community in decision-making processes and to promote environmental protection and sustainable development. To achieve these goals, the association organizes various initiatives such as educational programs, seminars, conferences, mentorship opportunities, and science events. It also provides platforms and resources for students and researchers to discover academic opportunities, scholarships, volunteer activities, and research funding possibilities.

About the Conference

The International Conference – Molecular Biology: Current Aspects and Prospects (ICMB) is organized by the Science and Research Association and supported by our partners. The association is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered in the Romanian National Registry under number 45691402.

The main aim of ICMB 2026 is to bring together researchers, students, and experts from around the world to share knowledge, present new scientific results, and foster future collaborations. Through lectures, poster sessions, workshops, and scientific discussions, participants will have the opportunity to explore the latest discoveries and innovations in molecular biology and related fields. ICMB 2026 is designed not only as a scientific conference but also as a platform for networking and professional development. Participants can present their research through oral presentations or posters, interact with leading scientists, and establish connections that may lead to future research projects and collaborations. The conference will cover a broad range of topics in molecular biology and life sciences.

Conference History

ICMB was first organized in 2015, bringing together researchers, academics, and students interested in advances in molecular biology and related scientific fields. The inaugural edition created an international platform for scientific exchange, allowing participants to present their research, discuss emerging trends, and establish collaborations across institutions and disciplines. Following the success of the first conference, ICMB quickly gained recognition as a valuable meeting point for scientists working in molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, and other life science disciplines. The event fostered meaningful discussions, encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration, and supported the visibility of young researchers within the scientific community.

After a decade, the conference returned with a new edition in 2025 (see how was it here), continuing its mission of promoting scientific dialogue and collaboration at an international level. The renewed edition builds upon the foundation established in 2015 while expanding the scope of participation, topics, and networking opportunities. Through its editions, ICMB has contributed to strengthening scientific connections, promoting the exchange of innovative ideas, and supporting the development of future research collaborations in molecular biology and related fields.

Non-Profit Policy / Use of Conference Fees

Since we are a non-governmental organization, the purpose of the conference is not to generate profit. Therefore, all registration fees are used exclusively to support the organization of the event. These funds help create an excellent environment for participants to engage in scientific discussions, cover the expenses of invited speakers, and support the basic organizational and administrative costs of the conference. Any remaining funds will be allocated to future initiatives, such as organizing the next edition of the conference, awarding prizes for the best poster and oral presentations, and providing travel grants to participants, provided that sufficient resources are available.
